Introducing City Precinct's 2014/15 Executive Committee
August 21st, 2014 — News
August has been a busy month for City Precinct!
Our AGM on Wednesday evening has seen Melanie Ashe hand over the reigns to a new President. On behalf of the Executive Committee I would like to thank Melanie for all of her hard work in setting up and driving City Precinct these past few years as President, and to outgoing Executive Committee member Leesa Lambert. Our gratitude too to Jerome Miller of MELTours who very sadly passed away in March of this year - Jerome was a founding member of City Precinct and his enthusiasm is missed. Melanie Ashe (Clementine's) will remain part of the Executive taking the role of Treasurer, and we welcome back Carl Nave (Carl Nave Individually Tailored) as Vice President, Sally Mackinnon (Styled by Sally), Fiona Sweetman (Hidden Secrets Tours), Adam Lana (Swear Words), Mark Boldiston (Lord Coconut), Spiri Papadimas (La Citta), and new Executive members Ian Lambert (Little Bookroom), Matthew Thompson (mattt), JC Lloyd-Southwell d'Anvers (Madam Virtue) and Lynette Clucas (Fokus). Our new President, Gerard Kelly, has owned and operated three hospitality venues in the City Square - Three Below Public Bar and Diner, Caboose Canteen and La Vita Buona Retail and Wine Bar. He is passionate about hospitality, retail, small business and Melbourne city and was a candidate in the 2012 City of Melbourne elections. This year marks ten years in business for Gerard, so will see him as a recipient of the Lord Mayor's Commendation. He is a member of City of Melbourne People's Panel, and has been a member of various networking groups within the Melbourne CBD for many years, and regularly sponsors events including Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, Melbourne International Film Festival, Melbourne Music Week and smaller artists exhibitions. He is looking forward to working with the City Precinct Executive Committee and members to continue to grow our collective opportunities, and invites you to meet with him next Wednesday evening, August 27th at our members only networking night from 6.30pm at the Kelvin Club. Also this month we launched our shiny new website with thanks to design services by Swear Words. We will be invoicing members for 2014-15 membership fees commencing next week. Membership is still a very reasonable annual fee of $50. If you know of any small businesses that would benefit from membership please pass on the membership form. Regards, Eleanor Laud Executive Officer
