Kinfolk takes the cake at the Business 3000+ Awards

Kinfolk is in its 10th year of making social impact in Melbourne and beyond. At the Melbourne Business Network’s Business 3000+ Awards ceremony, Kinfolk was presented the Business 3000+ Award for Social Enterprise and, also took the top prize winning the Business of the Year Award.
Awarded by the Minister for Small Business, Adem Somyurek, Kinfolk’s co-founder and CEO Jarrod Briffa spoke about the development of the Social Enterprise since 2010 and the unexpected joy of both working with and learning from the 70 volunteers who gain training and work experience with Kinfolk each week. Kinfolk was awarded Business of the Year in recognition of its’ dynamic business model that is creating social impact and is successful as a commercial enterprise. The judges were particularly impressed with Kinfolk’s recent business growth, diversifying into event management and catering, operating 4 CBD event spaces for corporate workshops and private events and delivering catering around the Melbourne CBD from the historic Donkey Wheel House in Bourke street, Melbourne.
Co-founder and CEO Jarrod Briffa says “the aim with Kinfolk was to positively promote conscious consumerism while creating more inclusive communities. We couldn’t be more humbled for our team, including our volunteers, for the recognition of both our social enterprise and business success.”
