At Balthasar Jewellery we design and create all types and styles of stunning jewellery for every occasion, from the simplest of piece to the most intricate and extravagant. Imagination is our only boundary.
Neil’s love affair with jewellery design began in 1982 at the tender age of 13. A task assigned during a metal-work class – the creation of a simple two-dimensional brass brooch – sparked the inspiration to go one further and design a three-dimensional turtle brooch; a piece Neil still has today.
A four-year jewellery making apprenticeship with BERT W. ADAM in Collins St. Melbourne followed, and an illustrious career including: winning the Australian national title, and placing 4th in the world
at The International Work Skill’s Competition for Apprentices; a stint with ADRIAN LEWIS JEWELLERY in South Yarra, one of Australia’s leading jewellery designers; and a period creating jewellery for GRAFF DIAMONDS in London, one of the world’s most prestigious jewellery houses, where making magnificent pieces with million dollar diamonds was an everyday occurrence.
In 2003 Neil followed his dream to create his own jewellery design business, initially working from a home studio, graduating to the salon in Bourke Street he designs from today.
In 2008 his jewellery designs featured in a combined exhibition as part of the Melbourne International Design Festival. His work is regularly used in fashion shoots and shows.
