Overlooking leafy Bourke Street Hill, Bottega serves some of Melbourne’s best modern Italian cuisine. The menu takes inspiration from regional Italian cooking, with several Sicilian influences. Dusty Treweek, formerly of Comme and Stokehouse, leads the kitchen team, using the highest quality produce across the entire menu. This includes lemons, nettle and oranges sourced from owner Denis’ farm in Rutherglen. Casarecce is made by hand and then introduced to house made pork and fennel sausage, brocollini, garlic and chilli. Twice cooked lamb shoulder is slow cooked, served with eggplant, almond and black garlic, while crispy skinned salmon is chargrilled, and accompanied by a salad of grilled zucchini, cannellini bean, prawns, black olive and orange dressing. Sommelier Ben Knight has crafted an exceptional wine list, with emphasis on regional Australian wines, and an extensive selection of imported wines specialising in Italian varieties. The interior exudes sophistication and comfort. Stylish leather booths and white clothed tables evoke a plush New York–style dining room, perfect for a romantic evening, a pre-theatre feed, a long lunch or a late dinner. During lunch and pre-theatre an Express Menu is on offer with 2 courses for $55 or 3 courses for $65. With the added bonus of flexible and intimate spaces for private dining, accommodating groups from as little as 10 guests or as many as 60. Our rooms are a unique city dining experience. Located on the first floor, Bottega’s private rooms are perfect spaces for a wide range of events - from corporate lunches & dinners, Christmas parties and medical industry presentations to milestone birthdays, intimate weddings, engagement dinners and wine dinners.
