The Windsor is Melbourne’s last remaining grand hotel – an icon with beautiful Victorian architecture and an Afternoon Tea service that has been running since 1883.
Its elegant dining room is a step back in time to a grand era, but the Afternoon Tea items are anything but. A tradition reimagined, they feature seasonal canapes and delicate patisserie, the latter given a modern twist by Head Pastry Chef, Jeremie Parmentier. A resplendent dessert buffet – with cakes, French pastries and a milk and dark chocolate fountain – is served on weekends.
The hotel is also home to the nostalgic Cricketer’s Bar, a cosy space serving modern Australian and English gastropub food by Executive Chef Tom Brockbank.
Situated in the heart of the theatre district, The Windsor is also a great spot for a pre-theatre dinner, or snacks, charcuterie and cheese paired with a good Australian wine or gin. Live jazz is played in One Eleven on Friday & Saturday nights.
